The first exhibition of its kind detailing the history of this legendary boxing landmark, The Ring in Blackfriars. The venue's key moments are captured in these amazing images, drawn directly from the private collection of boxing historian, Miles Templeton. The exhibition curator and owner of The Ring Boxing Club, Mark Burford, believes this is the only exhibition of its kind in the world and says "This is an amazing opportunity for people to get a real insight into not only boxing, but what London looked like at the turn of the last century and up to the start of the Second World War. I think Miles has done a splendid job of detailing the key moments in both imagery and written word for the public's enjoyment.
A big thank you also has to go out to graphic designer Marc Riley, who helped tremendously in putting the images and text together in such an inspiring fashion".
The exhibition takes place in the atmospheric surroundings of the present carnation of The Ring Boxing Club at 69 - 70 Ewer Street, London SE1 0NR (nearest tube Southwark). The club has wheelchair access.
